The net ATP yield from the complete oxidation of one molecule of glucose in glycolysis is 2 ATP molecules. During glycolysis, one glucose molecule  6 carbons  is broken down into two molecules of pyruvate  3 carbons each . In this process, 4 ATP molecules are produced, but 2 ATP molecules are consumed in the initial steps, resulting in a net gain of 2 ATP molecules.
