The electronegativity values of oxygen and hydrogen are approximately 3.44 and 2.20, respectively, according to the Pauling scale. To find the electronegativity difference between the two atoms in a water molecule  H2O , subtract the electronegativity value of hydrogen from that of oxygen:Electronegativity difference = Electronegativity of oxygen - Electronegativity of hydrogenElectronegativity difference = 3.44 - 2.20Electronegativity difference  1.24
