Watson's 'Little Albert' experiment involved pairing a white rat with a loud, scary noise until the child showed a fearful response to the rat alone. This experiment demonstrated the formation of an association between a previously neutral stimulus  the white rat  and a negative emotional response  fear , showing how classical conditioning can account for emotional responses in humans.
