polarization

Polarization leads to the buildup of electric charges on objects. This buildup of charges is known as static electricity . Once an object becomes charged, it is likely to remain charged until another object touches it or at least comes very close to it. Thats because electric charge cannot travel easily through air, especially if the air is dry.
